You are in a log cabin; cozy, warm looking furnature is scattered around the living room. You notice the staircase that runs upstairs to a closed door; another room, perhaps? The room is big, with a tall ceiling with skylights to bring in natural sunlight. There is a fairly large kitchen with counters, pantrys, and a dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a dinner table. You can see magazines and newspapers on the table. Against the wall you see a small table holding what looks like family photos. The room is illuminated only by the sunlight shining through the various windows around the room. After walking up the stairs, you start to run out of breath even though you don't see yourself as heavy. There is a small balcony of sorts before going into the room. The first thing you see is the black, shiny refrigerator. It's one of those fancy ones with the water dispenser. You notice there isn't a single smudge on the outside of the fridge. As you are walking out of your gravel driveway, you note that your car is gone. You freeze up for a second only to realize that Franklin needed to go into town today and needed the car. **No worries** You realize how much you loved the outdoors. The fresh air, the birds chirping, the animals; it's all amazing. You remember why you always went hiking with your father, or why you moved out into the North Carolina mountains in the first place. //"One step in front of the other..."// you tell yourself. You haven't been walking in a while which is more than likely the cause of the gained weight. //"Oh well,"// you think //"At least I'm not stuck in the city somewhere."// There is a fork in the gravel road. There is a table in next to one of the walls. The table itself isn't very long. On top of the table you find various picture frames. Once you bite into the cookie, a wave of satisfaction and relief flow through you. Seconds later, the taste comes through. It's revolting. The taste that once made this chocolate chip cookie unresistable now makes it sickening. You remember how hungry you were... The road down to Cindy's seems a lot more encouraging than the others. As you walk down the path, you notice Cindy's house up on the left. The closer you get, the more you can make out the details: large, wooden, many windows, etc. Crazy that she has such a big house. You are now infront of Cindy's House. The walk back is so much easier than the other walks, that's for sure. As you trek back, a sense of disapointment and unacomplishment goes over you. You couldn't do it. You reach your front door. As you walk inside, you throw off your shoes and sit down on your lounge chair you awoke from this morning. Drifiting to sleep is easy. Once you are asleep, you have a vivid dream. You are at home, everything seems so much brighter than it was when you were awake. You get a phone call from your other friend, Jackson, about some problem. "I swear, Linda, I saw Franklin take the boy from the crime scene; IT WAS ON THE NEWS!" //"Now, I highly doubt that. I've seen this man all the time since the report and I can reassure you, my husband did not take that Charlie kid. He probably brought him to the police station or something, I don't know!"// His voice is getting stractchier, like he is breaking up with her. "Trus... me Linda, he....ook the b...y and... secre...barn." The call ends. You look at the phone just as Franklin comes home. He is almost 6' with a very big bodyframe. He has a large beard and has his special sunglasses on. He walks inside and notices you just getting off of the phone. **"Hi honey, how was your day?** As he walks towards you, the heavy boots make an echo throughout the house. His footsteps are covered in blood. **"Come on hun, give me a kiss..."** You resist, but he keeps on pursuing you. **"C'mon, it's just kiss, what's wrong?"** You awake by the breaking of glass. It's almost too dark, but you can easily make out a manly figure in the window. After standing up, the figure gets through the window and starts sprinting towards you. You sit your bottom down on the rock to have yourself a rest. Things have been different since you moved up to Warrensville. I mean, you followed your dreams of becoming a writer and started to live out in the mountains. Seriously, how cool is that? Your personality changed as well... **maybe not for the better** You've become friendlier though! Cindy has become a great friend and is almost always there for you, no matter what. Same thing for her; she sees you as a supportive, kind friend that is always looking out for her. You remember a quote you read somewhere in a magazine. "I can tell you from experience, the effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is..." You get startled out of nowhere. Across the road, in the bushes and underneath the trees, you see a bunch of leaves moving around. Sounds like it could be something sp00ky. At the top of the walk there is a lookout that opens up to a large, open quarry. The complicated, yet interesting, equipment fills the quarry making it a sight to see. There is a chain-link fence with a decently sized hole in it. Past the chain-link fence lies a sharp, dirt cliff down to a smaller shelf. You creep up to the bushes, trying to get a perfect angle of what's there. Seconds pass as you slowly make your way over. You get a glimpse of a figure with a white shirt on. It looks like a man. As you keep approaching, you see him gripping something. You speak up and the man stands up. There is a sense of surprise on his face, something real. He's legit. The young lad is hispanic with a short, black beard. On top of his head resides a baseball cap of the Atlanta Braves© that looks very old. You walk around the parameter of the house. You see many windows, most of them covered up from the curtains on the inside. As you walk around, you find a window that isn't covered up. It looks like no one's home. Her house looks a lot like your's, just a different arangement of furnature and other small things. You are in Cindy's bedroom. The room is quite small, only a queen size bed, a dresser with a mirror, a small chair in the corner, and two doorways; one to her main living room and another to her bathroom. The bathroom door is closed and you can hear the water running. The second you get inside, the water stops running and Cindy bursts out of her bathroom. She has a towel over herself and has wet hair. Cindy has a face of disgust. She is absolutely clueless as to why you are in her room. "Seriously, Linda, why the flying fishcakes are you in my bedroom, huh?" "Dear god since when is it socially acceptable to just waltz into someone's bedroom..." She thinks for a second. " How the hell did you get in here, anyways? [["Through the window..." | humiliation]]

"Dear god that doesn't mean you are obliged to come in through my bedroom window or anything! Where the hell did you get that idea from anyways?!" You just shrug it off. Cindy is offended. "Linda, Kenn is going to be home in a little bit and I think it would be weird to find his girlfriend in her bedroom, naked, with her neighbor." //"Sure, I guess."// "Listen, I'm not really in the mood right now to talk to you; kinda got scared in the shower. Do you, uh, mind leaving?" You think she's joking. She's actually serious. [["Sure, I'll be on my way" |leave]]

You both stand still for a couple of minutes. Cindy crosses her arms and gets less patient. She finally snaps. "Alright, Linda, get out of my fucking house. NOW." Cindy drags you by the arm out of her room and through her living room, throwing you out of her house. He's probably deep in some ditch or something!" He laughs a hispanic laugh. **How racist of me** He turns back into the woods and walks the other way. You look deeply at the opening in the fence. **//"Will I fit through this?//** you ask yourself. **//"What if my clothes get stuck and I have to get new ones?//** Carpe Diem As you squat down to fit through the fence you have doubts about yourself. The squeeze through barely scrapes your face but immediently catches onto your left leg. The pain is sudden, making you flinch. The flinch made you roll down the cliff side onto the shelf. The little patch of dirt keeps you safe and gives you a time to recover. Your leg is bleeding pretty bad. You look around you. There is a safer route to your left, with a gradual path downwards. On the right there is a steeper, more dangerous route. Seems like there is a smaller ledge further down with what looks like a tin box on top of it. The safer path fills you with //determination//. Seriously, this path gives you more confidence than before. As you go down the path the gravel slips underneath you and you lose your footing. You're fine, though, as you were on a much safer route and was less prone to injuries because of it. You stand back up and continue onward. The view is stunning. The quarry itself is huge with huge, massive piles of rocks scattered around. **No one is here, though. You don't remember anyone working here.** You continue your hike down the quarry. Everything is nice. Downhill is much easier than uphill; that's for sure! As you reach the bottom of the ledge you find remember where in the quarry you deposited that one thing. You are overcome with a sense of guilt, but you do not understand why; you have forgotten something. Your eyes lock with a massive rock pile with a neon orange flag over it. You jump down from the ledge you were on and slide down a gravel hill to the bottom of the quarry. The far more risky route makes you feel adventurous. Your eyes lock onto the metal thing below almost 20ft away. You get on your butt and scoot your way over to the ledge. Once at the corner, you launch yourself off. You tumble more than a couple times almost falling off of the ledge you were aiming for. You stand up, recollect yourself, and then get reminded about your leg and how its torn up. It hurts even more now, but at least you have access to the tin box now. You pick it up and dust it off. You turn only to find out that the man wasn't actually pointing to a bear, but was trying to distract you. It's a small dirty metal key that looks out of place. There is a key-ring that holds the key alongside some others. There is a small picture attached to the key-ring but you can't make it out as it's too dirty. You whipe the picture with your finger with some spit on it. It's a picture of you and Franklin; the same one that resides in your house. The keys go to your house. You put the keys in your Levi's and put the tin box down. You jump off the ledge and fall for maybe 20ft. Once you land on your feet, you feel something snap and your legs give out. You start to tumble and hit your head a couple of times. There is a big rock at the bottom of the ledge that you happen to land ontop of and severely injur your back. You hear a very loud snap, sort of like the sound of your knuckles cracking but 10x louder. You bounce back and roll off again, finally reaching the ground. By that point, you can barely move; you hurt so much. You try to roll, but you can't. You try to stand, but you can't. You curl up into a burrito and roll yourself off of the ledge. The decent was terrifying at first, but the roll itself wasn't too bad. You roll a couple of times, get beat up, and even hit your head once or twice, but it's probably better than some other options. Once you reach the bottom, you have trouble getting back up; you got various injuries as you fell but your leg was still a pain in the ass. You eventually get up and start walking away. You look around the quarry and notice an alternative way up. It's getting darker outside, but you think you can be home in time. You trek your way back towards your house. After about a good 30 minutes, with lots of breaks, you finally get back towards the top of the quarry around where you got through the gate. You remember your leg; still bleeding. You are back on the road leading towards your house. The descent is much easier than the ascent. Once you get to the fork in the road, you turn onto the road leading to your house. "Oh, yeah!" She looks down at her feet. There is an awkward pause. "You wanna come in?" She moves out of the way and motions inside with one arm. You walk into the log cabin. The house seems a lot more roomy than yours; probably better furnature placement. There is a lounge area with books all around it, stacked on the floor. In the other corner of the room lies the dinner table. She doesn't have a kitchen, how weird. "You know, there aren't many people that I'm willing to do this for, you know that right?" says Cindy as she is walking towards the table, turning her head to you. "Interrupting my shower is totally something you would do..." She laughs it off. You sit down at the dinner table. There is a packet of Swedish Fish on the table. You ask politely for some swedish fish. Cindy looks at you with a weird look. "Sure, I suppose. I don't really eat them; my niece, Roxxanne, asked for some when she visited last week and I haven't gotten rid of them." She hands you the bag. The large bag is half empty but you eat all of what is left. **You feel good about yourself.** "So Linda, how's life been? Haven't seen [[Franklin]] around, is he doing ok?"

"So what have you been up to girl? What type of things have you been doing?" She points at a picture of a young girl with bright red hair. She looks 6-7 years, definitely not older. "She's awesome; she is really artistic and likes to go exploring." She shows you other photos of her. "Since she's from New York she doesn't get to go to the mountains that often, so she has a fun time exploring the forests and stuff. The bookshelf looks modern. There are various pictures of a young girl with red hair, usually by herself. There are the occasional pictures with a younger boy her age. They are both wearing seperate clothes each picture. It's a very old, leather journal. On the front is a heart sticker that looks dirty and aged. The paper looks to have a subtle brown tint to it. You open up the journal to see months, maybe even years, worth of journal entries. The first one is from July 12th, 1990 and covers the struggles of being a high-school senior. The more you read, the more you discover how much of a bitch Cindy was in High School. At first, many of the journal entries look normal. Some are longer than others but they usually follow the same layout and style. About halfway through the journal is a different story, however. Around 1999, the entries seem to be messier. You skim through the passages and see words like: bones, burry, suspicion, **neighbor**... Before you could read more, Cindy comes out of her bedroom dressed. She see's you holding her journal. She walks over and takes the journal from you and returns it to the bookshelf. She walks over and sits back down at the dinner table and rests her head ontop of her arm. She seems tired. As you walk over to her, she sits back up and flips her hair back. She stares at you, like something is wrong. "Tell me the truth, Linda. Don't lie to me here..." She stands up and points a finger at you. She is walking towards you. She starts to get angry. You slowly approach the bed. On top is what looks like a small body; probably a child's. As you move up the body, you notice the insides completely ripped out and spread across the bed. There are a couple of flies around the body, with maggots inside. At the top of the body is the face, which is almost unrecognizable with all the blood on it. You can, however, make out a baseball cap that was worn. You remember just about everything. Franklin was the one who did this. Franklin abused his privilege and took the boy home. **You have to leave the room; the sight and smell is too revolting.** You rememebr walking in on him; that psycopath. You have no idea how you had any idea of marrying that sicko. You stand at the top of the balcony, waiting. Waiting for this all to be a dream. You turn around and look back at the bed.
